A practitioner of Ayurveda for 30 years, Chef Richard LaMarita, Chef Instructor at the Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC joins us for a class introducing the basic concepts of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic diet.
Ayurveda is a 5000 - year old knowledge on health and life that contains theory and practices for strengthening digestion (agni), eliminating toxins (ama) from the body and awakening our innate intelligence (ojas) in the body and mind.
The class will include a hands – on cooking session where we will prepare a summer Ayurvedic Indian meal together.
The menu will include:
Ojas Elixir — (Fresh cashew milk based)
Sev Puri (Indian Salad) — Broccoli, Apple, radish, Sprouts, Chutneys, Sev
Fennel – Scented paratha Frankie (Indian Style Wrap) —Roasted Shiitakes, Curried Eggplant, Russian Kale
