The Blum Center
I am proud to personally know a true pioneer in Functional Medicine who also happens to be my sister, Susan Blum, MD, MPH. I have watched her grow in this field over the past few decades, continuing to educate herself through personal research and collaborations while propelling functional medicine to the more “mainstream” place that it is moving toward today. Many are in need of medical assistance from a doctor who practices functional medicine and treats the whole person and not just individual symptoms. It is with great pride that I include The Blum Center for Heath on the community page of my website. I am grateful for the opportunity to share The Blum Center for Health as a significant resource for those seeking an approach to mind-body medicine. blumcenterforhealth.com/

Lunchtime: Changing One School at a Time
The Rockland Coalition for Better School Food consists of health professionals, educators and concerned parents. This group provides Rockland County residents who are fed up with the school cafeteria food a forum to affect change. The Coalition sees a strong correlation between the low quality food available to children at school and their deteriorating health, wellness, behavior, and learning. Working with schools to change their food programs is a challenge for groups like the Rockland Coalition. Today, most school districts have a suburban School Health Advisory Council, or SHAC, which creates district-wide wellness policies. www.betterschoolfood.org
