Welcome to The Food Evolution, a place that I have created with love and a passion to make a difference. My goal and hope is to teach people that they can change their lives through healthy food.
I was a child of the “guinea pig” generation when it comes to food. Preservatives in the food I ate negatively impacted my health growing up. More women became convinced by food companies that it would make their lives easier to go to the drive thru or frozen food aisles to provide meals for their families. As a result, there was a decline in cooking at home and people’s health have seriously suffered. The poor quality of the food we eat is a major contributing factor.
When I had children, I saw first hand the problems with what kids are eating, especially in schools. As they grew up, I became more aware of the serious health issues children face and decided to go back to school to become educated about nutrition. I started crusading for better school food, fighting for children to have the right to grow up healthy. I was determined to educate people about the importance of whole foods nutrition and that is why I started The Food Evolution. My greater goal is to reach and educate as many people as I can, positively impacting their lives and the lives of their families. The variety of classes I have created will provide those opportunities.
Evolution is defined as a process of gradual, peaceful, progressive change, and at The Food Evolution that is my intention. Many people think cooking healthy is too time consuming, difficult and expensive. It is my mission to teach people that cooking can be easy, fun, and rewarding! We have to change what food and nutrition has become and heal our food system. There is a major connection between what we eat and how we feel. I hope that you come and feel the warmth, love, and positive energy that is created in our kitchen and that it may inspire you to create many beautiful meals in your own home.
Wishing you the best of health,
Diane Hoch, CHC Nutritional Health Counselor & Chef
