lrd_22012013_0125Taking some extra steps to avoid the flu for the remainder of winter isn’t so hard when you’re satisfying your appetite at the same time! One way to do so is by including more dark leafy greens to your diet. Our favorite, and among the most health supportive, is Kale!

Kale is a hardy, cold-weather leafy green full of vitamin C, two times the daily serving in fact! Vitamin C provides resistance against infection, which is vital during cold and flu season when our immune systems may be at their lowest. In fact, Kale also provides the nutrients to build a strong immune system and keeping that system strong can help you fight off the invasion all together.
